PART 1: Sunshine Room

Elite Contributions visited Charles Saer Primary School to see their Sunshine Room — a safe, supportive space for children who may need a little extra care during the school day.

The room provides a calm place for children to take a break, reset, and access food and refreshments, helping them feel comfortable, supported, and ready to return to learning. It plays a vital role within the school and makes a real difference to the children who use it.

The space was well used and clearly important, but it was ready for a glow-up. Before getting started, we wanted to understand how it’s used and hear from the children about what would make it an even better space for them.
